Tariq Ackbar

Dr. Tariq Ackbar graduated from the University of the West Indies with Honours in the year 2013. He then became enrolled as a Teaching Assistant in the University’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Large Animal Unit, working diligently whilst gaining valuable experience in this field. He worked with staff, students and clients enabling him to learn how to communicate across all 3 regions of Veterinary Medicine in Trinidad. After serving faithfully for 2 years, he then transitioned to a small animal clinic called Total Pet Care where he worked for a period of 1 year.
At the end of that year, he decided to move forward by becoming a self employed Veterinary Surgeon, providing mobile services to a large extent of the country. From then to the end of 2020, he has successfully grown into a well established mobile veterinarian working across almost all parts of Northern, Central, Eastern, Western and Southern Trinidad, with a heavier presence in the Eastern, Central and Southern Regions.
At the Beginning of 2021 his business was registered as Ackbar Animal Medics and Services Limited, still operating as a Mobile Veterinarian to date with intent to begin distribution of Veterinary diagnostic, laboratory and OR equipment as well.
His current services offered are but not limited to:

• Routine Vaccine, Deworming and Examinations
• Emergency Medical and Surgical Services (in and out of hours)
• Spaying and Neutering
• Select Elective procedures
• Advising on methods to prevent disease and improve management of farms and pets

He is honoured to be given the title of the active PRO of The Trinidad and Tobago Veterinary Association and will strive his best to achieve all that is expected of him, and more.
